John Stewart Muller began making films at the age of seven. Experimental, artistic and incredibly personal, his past work helped hone his creative skills allowing him to pursue a career as a highly-recognized motion picture and television commercial director.

Raised in Kansas City and educated at Loyola Marymount University’s film program in Los Angeles, John founded Santa Monica based production company Steele Films in the summer of 2000 with producer Laura Boersma. Since then, John has directed, written, and produced many award-winning television spots around the country.

In addition to commercial production, John is an active screenwriter and is currently in development on a number of feature films and television productions. His most recent feature Flingstarring Brandon Routh (Superman/Clark Kent of Superman Returns) enjoyed a limited theatrical release and is available worldwide on DVD.  It also airs regularly on Showtime and The Movie Channel.
